πŸ’œ Career Well-being: Make your LinkedIn profile work while you sleep

Dear Thriving Introvert! In this newsletter, I'll cover:

  • How to update your LinkedIn profile without your boss knowing
  • Put your oxygen mask on first
  • The 6 Questions Every Introverted Leader Should Ask

If you began 2026 thinking that you might want to look for a new job, or you have been searching for a while, it might be time to update your LinkedIn profile.

When people think about it, they often don't take action because it seems like a long, tedious, challenging, arduous task. So, they go on for months, with a static profile that doesn't attract recruiters or tell their career story.

But, you, my friend, can change that! And I'm here to help!

This week, I will help you begin the process with five stress-free steps that don't require a whole week to complete.

πŸ’‘ How to update your LinkedIn profile without your boss knowing

If the advice to "just put yourself out there" on LinkedIn makes you want to do the exact opposite, you are not alone.

For many of the leaders I coach, LinkedIn feels like a loud, crowded networking event that never ends. You see peers posting daily polls and humble-bragging about their latest wins, and you think, "I do not have the social battery for this."

Here is the good news: You don’t have to become a content creator or influencer to land your next leadership role.

As a Manager or Director, your goal isn't viral attention; it is executive presence.

You need a profile that acts as a "Quiet Machine"β€”one that works while you sleep, vetting opportunities and attracting executive recruiters to your inbox without you needing to spend hours engaging online.

Here are two stress-free ways to start optimizing today:

  • Go into "Stealth Mode": The biggest fear employed managers have is their boss seeing a notification that says, "Jane updated her profile." You can eliminate this risk instantly. Go to Settings & Privacy > Visibility and toggle "Share profile updates" to No. Now, you can rewrite your entire history without anyone knowing.
  • The Movie Trailer Method: Your headline is the first thing recruiters see. Stop using just "Manager at Company X." Instead, use the Executive Formula: Current Title | Core Competencies | The Value You Deliver.
    • Before: Sales Manager
    • After: Sales Manager | B2B SaaS Growth Strategy | Driving $10M+ in Annual Revenue

But how do you write an "About" section that sells your leadership philosophy without sounding arrogant? And how do you shift your bullet points from "Task-Oriented" to "Result-Oriented"?

Inside, you will find:

  • The "Doer" vs. "Leader" Audit: Why you need to delete the phrase "Responsible for" immediately.
  • Headline Formulas: Copy-paste templates for Operations, Finance, and Sales leaders.
  • The "Quiet Confidence" Summary: How to write a narrative that builds connection before you ever get on the phone.
  • The "Set and Forget" Settings: Small tweaks that make you look polished with zero maintenance.

You don't need to shout to be heard. You just need to be found.

πŸ’» Put your oxygen mask on first

If you missed last week's article, I discussed 10 Strategies for Setting Boundaries at Work Without Saying 'No'. You wear your reliability like a badge of honor. But as a leader, there is a dangerous reality you need to face: Your behavior is the blueprint for your team. You are accidentally creating a culture of anxiety. This article helps you set boundaries at work, so you can improve your team dynamics and support the work-life balance you are meant to have.

πŸ’œThe 6 Questions Every Introverted Leader Should Ask

Most career advice right now is loud: "10x your goals," "Post every day." But actual change doesn't come from frantic energy; it comes from clarity.

Instead of a spreadsheet, grab a journal and sit with these 6 prompts. (I break down exactly how to answer each one in the full article):

  1. The Vision: Fast forward to Dec 31st, 2026. How do you want to feel?
  2. The Pillars: What are the 4 specific areas that will support that vision?
  3. Honoring the Friction: What obstacles do you already know will trip you up?
  4. Evidence of Capability: What proof do you have that you can handle hard things?
  5. Faithful Steps: What are 3 small moves you can make in the next month?
  6. The Anchor: What is your one word for the year?

In this article, I break down exactly how to answer each of these questions to help you design your year without burnout.
